I am director of the Judy and Bernard Briskin Center for Myeloma research at the City of Hope Cancer Center. I have been at City of Hope for 22 years after completing a fellowship in stem cell transplantation there. I have served as past chair of the BMT CTN myeloma group, and been the PI of several large CTN myeloma trials researching the role of post-transplant interventions to improve outcomes..

In addition I have been involved in Phase I trials of many of the new agents in myeloma including the anti CD38 antibodies and bispecific t cell engagers.I have served and chaired the ASCO plasma cell committee and CIBMTR plasma cell committee and serve as co-chair of the education committee for ASTCT. My current research efforts include understanding resistance mechanisms to antibodies and novel imaging methods for myeloma and I am leading the SWOG S1803 trial evaluating the role of MRD in directing maintenance therapy post autologous hematopoietic cell transplantation

The International Myeloma Society is a professional, scientific, and medical society established to bring together clinical and experimental scientists involved in the study of myeloma. The purpose of this society is to promote research, education, clinical studies (including diagnosis and treatment), workshops, conferences, and symposia on all aspects of multiple myeloma worldwide. The IMS is a membership organization comprised of basic research scientists, and clinical investigators in the field along with physicians and other healthcare practitioners.
