The International Myeloma Society (IMS) is proud to present the new “Global Leadership Opportunity” or GLO to empower the next generation of myeloma leadership.

 

GLO is open to myeloma-focused physicians and researchers who are members of IMS and are interested in advancing their leadership capabilities.

The one-year, cohort-based program includes:

  • Sponsorship and mentorship from IMS Leadership
  • In-person networking opportunities at IMS events
  • Opportunity to participate and help with IMS educational workshops and sessions

Participants will also:

  • Be assigned a mentor/sponsor
  • Serve on IMS committees
  • Attend a formal networking session at the IMS Annual Meeting
  • Have the potential to be considered for future leadership roles

The online application includes:

  • Background and contact information
  • Description of leadership experience
  • A 250 to 750-word personal statement outlining healthcare passions and leadership goals
  • Two letters of references that should address the applicant’s leadership potential and commitment to professional growth
    • From a colleague (e.g., physician, section leader, program director)
    • Secondary Recommendation from a member of the IMS Board of Directors or Executive Committee
  • Current CV

Applications will be accepted May 1-June 15, 2026. The IMS will formally introduce the first cohort of GLO at the IMS Annual Meeting in Glasgow.

Why Become a Member

The International Myeloma Society is a professional, scientific, and medical society established to bring together clinical and experimental scientists involved in the study of myeloma. The purpose of this society is to promote research, education, clinical studies (including diagnosis and treatment), workshops, conferences, and symposia on all aspects of multiple myeloma worldwide.

The IMS is a membership organization comprised of basic research scientists, and clinical investigators in the field along with physicians and other healthcare practitioners.
