The 2026 IMS Annual Meeting will showcase groundbreaking research across basic, translational, and clinical domains in MM and related disorders
In addition to core sessions spanning newly diagnosed MM, the increasingly complex landscape of treatment at first relapse, the advancing frontier of blood-based technologies, and the latest on immune system monitoring and toxicity management, the 2026 International Myeloma Society (IMS) Annual Meeting will spotlight:
An exciting and highly anticipated IMS/IMWG update on the definition of cure in myeloma
Plenary Abstract presentations on:
The phase 3 CERVINO trial data for the investigational, second-generation BCMA×CD3 bispecific etentamig
Long-term data from the practice-changing PERSEUS trial
Findings from the phase 3 EXCALIBER-RRMM study of the novel investigational CELMoD iberdomide with daratumumab and dexamethasone
First-in-human results for an in vivo BCMA/CD19 dual-targeting CAR-T
A potential new therapeutic vulnerability in t(4;14) MM
A risk refinement approach in the UKMRA OPTIMUM trial
Oral Abstract presentations, including:
Post hoc analyses and updated findings from MajesTEC-3
Quality of life data from the UKMRA RADAR trial focused on high-risk MM
Novel maintenance strategies based on doublets (isatuximab-iberdomide in MIDAS and daratumumab-iberdomide in IBEX) or guided by MRD (GEM2014MAIN)
First-in-human findings for several investigational agents, including dual-targeting and in vivo CAR-T therapies and new bispecific/trispecifc T-cell engagers
High-resolution omics data mapping the tumor microenvironment and genomic/epigenomic landscape in MM
And special IMS joint sessions with the AACR, EHA, and patient groups
There is still time to register to attend either in-person or virtual participation.
NICE backs first-line daratumumab quadruplet in transplant-eligible NDMM
The UK’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) issued Final Draft Guidance (FDG) recommending daratumumab in combination with bortezomib, lenalidomide and dexamethasone (Dara-VRd) followed by daratumumab plus lenalidomide maintenance therapy for previously untreated multiple myeloma (MM) in transplant-eligible patients, according to a press release. The FDG also supports use of Dara-VRd for patients treated with daratumumab-bortezomib-
Risk-stratified treatment yields sustained PFS and OS benefits
In the phase 2 OPTIMUM trial, comparing intensified induction, extended consolidation, and maintenance therapy after autologous stem-cell transplantation with an external comparator arm in patients with high-risk MM, the risk-stratified treatment strategy improved PFS, PFS2, and OS at five years follow-up. These data, reported in The Lancet Oncology, extend the previously reported improvement in the primary endpoint, 18-month PFS.
Fixed-duration teclistamab combination improves PFS in high-risk SMM
In patients with high-risk smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM), fixed-duration treatment with teclistamab in combination with lenalidomide and dexamethasone demonstrated higher two-year progression-free survival rates, 92%, compared with 49% in patients who received lenalidomide and dexamethasone alone. These findings from the phase 2 ImmunoPRISM trial were reported in Nature Medicine.
The International Myeloma Society is a professional, scientific, and medical society established to bring together clinical and experimental scientists involved in the study of myeloma. The purpose of this society is to promote research, education, clinical studies (including diagnosis and treatment), workshops, conferences, and symposia on all aspects of multiple myeloma worldwide.
The IMS is a membership organization comprised of basic research scientists, and clinical investigators in the field along with physicians and other healthcare practitioners.
